This award was for our amazing occupational therapy service at this year’s DLR Chamber of Commerce Awards! As a relatively new mental health occupational therapy practice, this recognition feels incredibly special. It is a testament to the passion, dedication, and hard work of our small but mighty team.
Background to Mental Health Occupational Therapy Service
When I started Way Ahead Therapy in 2021, the goal was simple: to offer a really good occupational therapy service that can support individuals, families and groups to achieve their goals through a research informed and person-centred approach. This includes individual 1:1 therapeutic work, clinical supervision of Occupational Therapists, training and workshop delivery and online course development. We believed that a holistic approach to therapy could make a profound difference in people’s lives. It could help them find their way ahead—hence our name.
Winning this award is not just a proud moment, but also a reminder of why we do what we do. We support people in Dublin, Cork and around the country in a neuro-affirmative way. We work with a range of mental health concerns, such as low mood, anxiety, stress, executive disfunction, facilitating people to live the life they want to lead. Every day, we have the privilege of walking alongside our clients as they navigate their mental health challenges, and this award recognises the impact of that work.
We are deeply grateful to the DLR Chamber of Commerce for this honour and to our wonderful clients, partners, and supporters who have believed in us from the beginning. This journey has been one of growth, learning, and resilience, and we’re excited to see what the next chapter holds. Here’s to many more years of making a positive impact, one person at a time!
